O.K., so Carol invited me to a boring office party. Being a Monday and all I decided to bail out of work and head down to see what was up.
I got there and the Foo Fighters were playing on a huge stage right along the bay. Pretty cool indeed so we grabbed a beer and got close to see who could possibly follow the Foo Fighters.
So then Bob Dillon takes the stage and just rocks it out like he was still 30 (although obviously he isn't). I've never seen Bob in concert before so it was a real treat to see the legend in person. I didn't understand a word he said, but of course I never have before.
Carol and I find some of her office mates and we were all giddy about who could follow up Dillon. The Black Eyed Peas took the stage and just cranked up the volume!!! I mean these guys just made all of these scientists get down. They had all kinds of talent on stage passing the Mic around for a new lead voice on practically every song. Fergie rang out a solo to "Sweet Child of Mine" that put Axle Rose to shame. Damn!
Finishing up the day (as if that wasn't enough) was the Eagles. The band that everyone knows and everyone knows every song and every lyric. Yeah, these guys are gettin' up there in age but they sound as good as they ever have.
Man, what a day! We had a blast at the party even though the food was ravaged by a pack of hungry wolves. I didn't know big corporations could party like that, but I am a new believer in the fight against Cancer...www.gene.com.
