Situated at the eastern foot of Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch Gardens is a 36-hectare botanical garden containing over 9,000 South African plant species. Its a peaceful retreat from Cape Town. We made it there a hour before closing. Most of the tourist buses had already been loaded and gone so we had the gardens to ourselves.
