Many of you may know that
Carol's job requires that she visit some fairly exotic destinations. We typically take advantage of her hectic travel schedule by checking out what fun adventures are available to us outside the fancy hotels. This trip required her to attend a conference and the famous
Lake Louise Fairmont in Banff, Canada. Before we arrived at Lake Louise we explored Jasper National Park by hiking the
Edith Cavell Trail and camped with thousands of other campers. We enjoyed cooking our meals lakeside every night. While Carol was working hard at the conference, Aaron
mountain biked a really great trail although the threat of Grizzly Bears feeding on berries kept him yelling loudly the whole ride. We did a
hike from the hotel up to the saddle and a storm came through and blasted us with hail. We also
toured Calgary on our last day heading to the airport.
Overall the trip was one of our favorites. The area is so scenic, the glaciers so massive and the area so wild. Finishing up at the Lake Louise resort is a treat to the eyes and the soul.
